Dialysis unit was inaugurated at Vaatsalya Hospital, Hassan here on Friday 30 September 2011. Superintendent of Police Shri Amit Singh, IPS – Hassan and senior physician Dr. Munivenkatagowda together inaugurated the facility equipped with three dialysis machines. Dr. Pavan MD DNB, Consultant Nephrologist at Vaatsalya Hospital, Hassan said that the unit would facilitate kidney patients who have been recommended for dialysis by doctors. He opined that there is a noticeable increase in kidney diseases due to high blood pressure, diabetes, unhealthy lifestyle, lack of exercise and use of substandard edibles.
