About the Doctors Day
July 1 is celebrated throughout India as Doctors Day in honour of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, legendary physician and second chief minister of West Bengal. Dr B C Roy was born on July 1, 1882, and passed away on the same day in 1962, he was 80 years. Dr Roy was both a friend and doctor to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. The nation honoured Dr Roy with the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award on 4th February 1961.

Vaatsalya Hospitals observed Doctors Day at all our hospitals across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The event was celebrated by felicitating the Senior Doctors of their respective towns.
