The latest fad is news aggregation and collaborative filtering aka www.reddit.com
it is a great concept, linked with custom feeds based on my clicks or recommendations i can read my own customized newspaper. I dont know enough of the technology behind this, but maybe a catchy news title gets ranked higher than real news.!.
